Monitor goes to sleep when i turn my computer

Specs: Windows Vista home premium 64 bit sp1

Hi i have a hp a6500f Intel Pentium Dual-Core Desktop Processor E2220,
And the problem i have is when i start my computer fans come on but only thing that the monitor say is "Monitor going to sleep" i was told it was the motherboard but is there something that i can do to make sure it is the motherboard before i purchase one. ty

Did u hear any beeps? It could be motherboard or psu failure. Try to change psu first.

Have you made any hardware changes? Moved the tower in anyway that may have knocked something loose inside? If the monitor is "going to sleep", it means it's probably not receiving a signal from the video card...you have to determine why that is.

Kuwese yes i do hear the sound it make when it come one and i'm sorry but what is the the psu, i do know a little about computer but when it comes to that stuff i know nothing,


Jam, i haven't made any hardware changes, where would i find the video card to see if that's what it is ty,,

So u hear beep, is it single beep or dual beeps? psu=power supply.
