I am using a Acer M1202 desktop computer
and using Windows Vista OS.
this just started a few days ago where I would be on the computer the monitor would turn off but the computer would stay on. I tried to turn off the computer but i can't do that from the power button. I had to unplug it from the wall. I ran my anti-virus and anti-spyware programs and they found nothing. I also checked my settings for sleep mode and turn off monitor and they are all set to never.What could be the problem?

Did u try another monitor? Disconnect vga/dvi/hdmi cable from the system and switch on the monitor, now do u see anything displayed?

I think your monitor is fine but your system won't post. Do u have v-card? Do u hear any beeps when u start the system?

Ok I am a little lost here. Is the monitor turning off on it's own while you are still on the computer? Are you having trouble shutting down the system? Are you having trouble getting the system to boot? You said you ran anti virus and anti spyware this tells me the computer is working and that the monitor is coming on. From your post I am having trouble understanding the issue.

the computer win 7 will work fine for up to 2 days then the monitor gos blank the computer stays on i have used anothjer monitor same prob when i reboot everything works for a while
I have the same problem myself, the computer screen turns off while the hard drive stays on. I have also tried a different monitor but still have the same problem
