I have recently started having a problem in that my monitor goes blank for about 2 seconds and then comes back ON. It does this randomly and appears to only do it once or twice in a 2 hour session. It happens in either Windows or Ubuntu. My power and screen settings are all set to Never, so it is not my sleep mode. Not sure which component could cause this? Anyone have any clues? Thanks.

Do you have another monitor you can try?

I was hoping you guys wouldn't say that. Yes, I have another monitor, but as I write this reply, I switched to another graphics card to see if it makes any difference. My other monitor is a Sony Trinitron 17" CRT, as oppose to my present Dell 19" LCD. I will give this video card a few days and see whether I need to switch monitors or not. I will feedback my results. Thanks guys for your responses.

Well, it has been 2 days and about 10 hours of operation with my spare video card installed and I have not experience any failure of the monitor going blank. The only difference is I was using the Digital output of my video card as oppose to the Analog of this one. I will go back to the original video card and use the Analog output and see if that makes any difference.
