monitor goes blank then back on

Hey all,
occasionally my monitor goes completely blank then back on, being off for only a mere second or two. It doesn't happen very often, but is minimally worriesome. doesn't seem to affect anything, but I was just wondering.
And it is NOT the screensaver kicking on as it will happen while I am typing along or browing online.

It's most likely a video card driver issue.
I just downloaded the latest video driver for my laptop, and started getting the exact same thing that you are experiencing. Went back to the older driver, and it stopped.

I had a user with the same problem. (screen blacking out)
I installed a new/updated driver from the manufacurer and it cured the problem.
I see geeky people.... wait.. that's my mirror!
