Monitor flashing Turn Off: press power off

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Intel i7 860 8 GB RAM
After installing Microsoft Live Essentials update, the smaller of the two choices, when my computer goes to sleep, the monitor starts flashing "Turn Off: press power off" and the box with that message migrates its position on the screen and the background color of the screen change with each step of the message box. The rate is about once/second. When I wake up the computer by pressing the power button, I get my normal log-in screen and everything behaves well. Monitors are set to sleep after 20 minutes of non-use, the computer after two hours of non-use.

unless you have a laptop, I would set everything to 'never' and just use a screensaver.
Like I said, sleep, hibernation etc is basically for laptops to preserve battery power.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Resetting the HP 2159m monitor to the default settings cured the problem. It's probably a coincidence that the problem occurred after the installation of the MS Live Essentials. This monitor seems to need resets of default conditions for other problems, most notably turning the sound off the integrated speakers.
