Monitor does not respond properly

Specs: N/A
I had two year old pc. Couple weeks ago, when i turned it on monitor behaves like it was disconected from the graphic card. Says to 'check the signal cable'. I got brand new motherboard but it didn't solve the problem. I think that might be graphic card, i don't think that would be a cpu. Can it be a cpu? I don't remember everything from IT like i used to, so i need some good piece of advice.
My configuration is:
*ASUS p5n-d
*Intel Core Duo E7300
*4GB DDR 800mhz PC 6400 dual
i think listing hdd and odds is necessary.

Thanks for any help in advance!

The logical thing to check would be the video card, why did you buy a new motherboard?

To correct my previous message i meant 'i think listing hdd and odds is UNnecessary.'

mickliq, thanks for suggestion, i was thinking the same, the problem is that i don't have any idea how to check if this is graphic card's fault or not. i don't have a friend who would have a dektop pc. Couple of them have, but the pc is steal on the warranty and sealed, so can't do much about it. i also don't wanna pay for checking at some electronic store or something. first i wanted to just buy graphic card at micro center and return it if it didn't help, they only let me to exchange it though (after the box is open).
why did i buy new motherboard? because i'm thinking about adding some more ram in the near future and changing from dual core to quad in the more distant future...

any ideas anyone?
