monitor displaying no video input.

Specs: windows xp
hi can any1 help i have just got a pc along with monitor
and when i plugged it all in and switched on at first i got
the windows xp load up screen then it went to
hibernation mode on monitor so i turned everything off
and restarted the pc to which i kept recieving no video
input even tho the tower was still working away, iv tried
the monitor on another system n it worked fine, the
tower has on board graphics and detects wen the
monitor is connected. Can anyone help please?

You might be dealing with a resolution issue. When the computer boots up, it may show the startup screens because the resolution on the monitor is set to LOW, but when the desktop loads, the higher resolution that in the windows settings isn't matching up with the low resolution of the monitor, and the monitor thinks it has no signal. If there are controls on the monitor to lower the resolution, try that, or, load windows in safe mode and see if the monitor springs to life all the way through to the desktop, then use desktop settings to set the native resolution of the monitor in the display settings.

thanx for your reply, the windows xp load up screen has only shown
once when i first started it up nw it wont show anything other than
the no video input message. bri
