I have an Auriga 17" monitor that just whent from a standard widows display to a black screem, it still has power on light and the coulur changes when it shifts from standby to display mode on reboot, the internal fuse checks out ok.
Any techs who can give me clue what the problem might be, or what may have caused the failure, or perhaps you have had this problem, what was the fix; it's about 3 years old.
I have plugged in my old monitor and it works fine, just a bit small. Thanks in advance for any responses.

That sounds like a dead monitor. The old monitor needs adjustments to fill the screen properly. Repairing a three year old 17" monitor probably isn't cost effective.

If you can plug in the Auriga 17" monitor into another PC or laptop, you will know for sure its disposition. It's probably dead.

You can take it somewhere and they can check to see if your high-voltage wire inside the monitor isn't getting the high-voltage. But I don't recommend you try this. There is many thousands of volts inside your monitor and it could kill you. I took a class in monitor repair last semester. But if there is no high-voltage, then there isn't much you can do other than throw out the monitor. One test you can do though is when you have the monitor turned on and put your arm next to the monitor, can you feel static electricity pulling the arm hair off your arm? If so, then you are getting high voltage and possibly your monitor could be fixed. Otherwise, you probably have a dead monitor.

Thank you all for your responses, I would have replied sooner but had no spare monitor. I now a new (and cheap) 17 monitor, the old was dead as dead can be and not worth repair.
Only one complaint, the new monitor (LG Studioworks 710s) has a 5 mm black space at the bottom of the screen, none of the many available adjustments will close it, I plan to talk to the supplier on Monday.
Avagoodweekend folks, and thanks again......
