Problem:

My monitor is doing strange things... These include, "flickering" like if i look at the top and bottom of my screen it seems to pulse or like the whole visible screen gets bigger and smaller slightly by about a line or two. I also see greyish lines along the top and bottom of the screen on occaision almost as if i could see the computer trying to fill in the space but getting tired and saving for the next refresh or something.. Basically the screen seems to jump and pulse and dispayrs wierd along the top and bottom.. this isn't constant but frequent.

Additional information:

NVIDIA Geforce4 TI with a viewsonic a90f+ monitor (19")

Diagnose/troubleshooting:

Tried degaussing and that didn't work ... played with moire reduction and no visible effect and also raised my refresh to 75 hertz for no real difference. No colours are off, and the corners are not fuzzy yet.

try and keep your cpu tower, printer, etc... a reasonable distance away from your monitor and make sure the cables connected to your monitor are in properly and that the powerpoint isnt too close to it either.

Can you raise the refresh rate to 85 Hz? If so, I would try it. Make sure you don't have the monitor too close to anything that gives off electromagnetic waves (unshielded stereo speakers, etc.). Also - and this is a long-shot - but you might try plugging the monitor into a different outlet (even if you have to use an extension cord), just to see if that makes any difference.
