i have an hp dv2225nr laptop i recently had to crash system and wipe out hard drive vista, i reinstalled xp professional, now my motoral modem from comcast is undected, will not install even with comcast disc. please help, no ports even detected on computer now.

first install your motherboard drivers,then install modem driver

check Device Manager for more reference

In case you weren't aware, you need to install the XP drivers. The Vista drivers will probably not work with XP Pro. There is even the possibility that there are no XP drivers available for that machine.

Contact Comcast for the Availablity of XP Drivers for their Modem. You may need a different Modem from Comcast.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
