Subject: modem has no soundOS: winmeCPU/Ram: amd duron 750 |
Comment: MOdem is pc tel amr model fb motherboard is PC Chips 810 Socket A MB AmD duron 750 CPU I recently installed soundblaster Live audio card version 010 and now there is no modem sound coming from my speakers. I'm not sure this is the cause of the problem as it has occured before and I have corrected it by installinng the origen modem driver. This time that didn't work. My modem is also on COM 3. I'm not sure, but it might have been on COM 1 before. Could this make a diference ?? In the bios setup, the AC' 97 Sound is now disabled (it was "enabled" before installing the SoundBlaster Live card). I don't know if this makes a difference either. If so , how do I change ports ? HOpe someone can help. regards Dave

Reply: (edit)I usually want to go the other way - shut the damned thing up! The secret to going either way is to add (or look for) the command "m0" where additional command strings can be added. If it's there, the modem will be silent - remove it and the normal volume controls will work!

Reply: (edit)In the play control volume controls (Windows) I couldn't find a control for modem volume. The modem volume (in control panel - modem ) is set to full. The m0 is not shown in the extra (advanced) settings. That space is blank Any more suggestions, guys / gals ??
