I bought a Modem manufactured by Lucent called Lucent wildwire modem.its a dual modem V90(dialup) + DSL.now the problem is that It came with just windows 98 drivers am using windows me and intended to dual boot my machine with winxp.
I need a driver for this modem made by lucent for windows me and windows xp.lucent has sold agree semiconductors its modem chip right and hence they are no longer supporting it. even lucent has dropped support am in very tense situation as my vendour refuses that he is no responsible for others drivers than win98.
I have search net but I could not find them. maybe I am not a good researcher.
There is another problem which has arisen due to my experimental nature. there was a switch in the back of modem with telephone jack out. it say 1 and 2 (1-2) I switched it a couple of time and have not noted on which position it originally was. can anybody tell me what is the function of this switch. where should I put it on.1 or 2.cd does not even contain a manual and the paper instruction manual does not say anything about it. may be its voltage regulator of some kind and I am afraid I may burn something or things. Please please help me.i do not afford another modem right now. kindly help me by sending links to modem driver of winme and winxp and a link to manual (or tell me what that switch is for and where should I set it to).i would be much obliged and grateful.
As for any further information the on the chipset number it carry is
1690A-BC
And it says its model is
Lucent Wildwire ADSL Client Model 2-12000-1Regards
