Okay, I have a sh*tty Dell 2350 case (dell 2400) and I changed the mobo in it. The HD activity LED and power button plug is different on the board than the ones that were on the old board. Same goes for the front USB ports/headphone jack. is there someplace I can buy these items seperately. Some sort of generic item that i can rig up in my case. I hate having to open the case and jump the circuit with a scissors every time i want to turn my comp on.

I'll agree with Curt, a new case removes you from the propietry interface thar Dell forces upon you. It will also allow you greater flexibility with future expansions.

You are lucky that your new motherboard survived! Many Dell computers use a special Dell power supply which it wired diffently from the standard ATX PSU.

i have had problems with the wire connectors not matching the layout of pins on the mobo, i have cut the plug with a craft knife to separate each wire connector so they are separate from eachother. Obviously you still need to know what each wire is for.
