Hi guys,

I'm trying to find out the make of my MOBO.

i took the cover of mu PC, removed fan etc and the only details I could find on it were the following:

RC415T-AM (SFIS S/N)

I think this is a model no. but not sure. I've tried google and this no. comes up just a few times and most of it is foreign so I can't make anything out from that.

Can anyone help me out here?

Basically i'm going to upgrade my pretty poor 512MB RAM so I want to check which one's are supported by my MOBO.

Cheers,

TS

Appears to be an OEM board made in Korea for Acer by ECS Elite Computer. Here is a link.

If you go to Crucial.com they have an online memory configurator.

Just looking at the model number, the "RC" most likely means "Radeon Chipset" & the "AM" is probably for "AMD" or "socket AM2".

Do you at least know whether you have an Intel or AMD CPU? How about whether you have DDR or DDR2 RAM?

Try running CPU-Z v1.42:

Download, unzip, click on CPUZ.exe, then wait...it may take a while for it to pop up on the screen. Then check the mainboard tab & memory tab.

Thanks for the repies guys.

Here is some more info I have on my PC:

CPU - Intel Celeron D, 3.20GHz

RAM - 512MB, DDR2 667, PC2-4300, CL4

Results from Crucial.com:

Max Memory - 2048MB
USB Support - 2 x Compliant
Chipset - ATI RC415
Standard Memory - 512MB or 1024 MB Removable
Slots - 2 (2 banks of 1)
Graphics Support - PCI Express x 16

Here are supported RAM they stated:

DDR2 PC2-4200
DDR2 PC2-5300
DDR2 PC2-6400

From this I can now purchase the RAM but I'm still slightly confused as to what make my motherboard is.

From the info above I did a search and it would appear that the ATI RC415 Chipset is an AMD product.

I've just noticed an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Sticker on my PC, does this have anything to do with the MOBO or is it just for the Graphics Card?
