Hey all
At the mo I have 512mb Corsair DDR RAM (either 2700 or 3200, cant remember :-p) I have the oppourtunity to get 256mb SDRam PC100 for free. Will this help at all? And is it possible to mix such types, (my MB is an A7N8X non-deluxe), just dont want it to cause more harm than good, and dont want to open up the comp and install it if it will not make any difference!
Thanks for any advice
TheWake
P.S the comp is mainly a gaming system

You cannot mix DDRAM and SDRAM - different slot types, so don't try forcing them in! If your board accepts both you can only use one type at a time & for gaming you need DDRAM.

Hi,

Unfortunately you're out of luck. SD Ram has 168 pins whereas your board supports DDR with 184 pins. So it won't work.

At least you asked before trying it. A guy in the overclocking forum asked this question after the fact. Right now, he's shopping for a new motherboard...LOL!
