I'll keep this question short and sweet: in your professional opinions, what is better?

1.0ghz 400mhz DDR RAM, or
1.25ghz 266mhz DDR RAM

????????

I also vote for 1.0ghz 400mhz DDR RAM because it is 50.4% (in theory) faster than 266MHz RAM

Well it all depends on your CPU speed,, if it's running at 266FSB then it doesn't matter if you use 266 or 400 RAM.. But if you have a CPU that is able to run @ 400FSB then i would without a doubt go for the 400MHz RAM.;)

trick is right. You need to look at the CPU and see what speed it runs at. If the ram is the bottleneck, then 400 mhz is best. If the CPU ram is the bottleneck, then the 400mhz will downclock to 266 mhz anyway.

The good thing about getting 400 mhz even if the cpu uses slower ram is that in the future, you can just transfer the ram over
