Hi,

my current motherboard is a pchips m810lr release 09/13/2002 s and i've just installed an additional 120gb hard drvie but only 30gb is showing I've been told that I need to update the bios but where do I find a new release and how do I do it ?

If there is a BIOS update that will help you will find it on thier website, along with the program required to perform the flash. Look here:

I think you will need XP SP1 too in addition to the BIOS update.

Tyrell:

Check the disk management utility to see if XP is seeing the full capacity of the drive. If it is seeing it, than just partition the remaining unused space. If it is not, a bios update may fix it, or worst case, you will have to install a new controller card.

SP1 is not required for 120gig hard drive access. For hard drives of greater than 120gig size, SP1 and a controller that supports 48-bit LBA is required to take advantage of the full capacity of the hard drive.

That's true (brain fart)....was confusing the 137GB with 37GB.

Does it matter which Bios are it look like their is 10 different ones for the board I have ??

You need to be absolutely sure that the file you use is for your EXACT MB version. Usually you would use the latest date.
