Missing character in my keyboard.

Specs: window 7
Hi, need help for my Asus laptop (U6). There is a missing character in my keyboard when I type. And 'Shift' key not working properly.
1) Character 'L' & 'l' is missing no matter how I tried with 'Shift' key or 'Cap Lock' nothing appear in the screen. I can only copy & paste.
2) 'Shift' key on the left does not allow character 'p' become cap letter 'P' or nothing on the screen. It only work from 'Shift' key on the right.
3) Like wise 'Shift' on right does not allow '<' to appear on the screen. It only work from 'Shift' key on the left.
How to fix these back to normal or get back the most important character 'L' or 'l'?
Thank you in advance for your help.

You either need to repair or replace the keyboard.

If you google with the string "repair a laptop keyboard" you will see many hits about this including videos.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Remove the battery and the power cable and any other connected cables. Open the lid to its fullest extent. Take hold of the lap top and turn it upside down and give it a good shake. You might be surprised at what comes out.

It is quite common for bits of debris, tobacco, crumbs and other household detritus to get inside the keyboard and stop some keys from working.

After #2 and while you still have it upside down, press all the keys a few times too (particularly the bad ones) - it might help to dislodge even more.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
