I just upgraded from a Radeon 9200SE PCI to a Radeon X1550 Pro PCI by Diamond. With the old card I had 768MB of RAM....why do i only have 704 now?

Did you use the integrated graphics for anything while you were making the switch?

Go to the BIOS (delete, F1, F2, or F10 at bootup, depending on the manufacturer), and make sure that:
-'Init Display first' is set to PCI
-Disable your onboard graphics, or set its shared memory amount to 0MB.

jack is correct with his accessment of your problem. The only thing I would point out is that I doubt you can set the RAM use at 0MB. 8MB is probably the lowest setting availbale.

Does your X1550 use "Hypermemory"?

Thanks Jack. Disabling UMA Shared Memory solved my problem.
