i have a gateway 400 vtx notebook and purchased a 802.11b network card that goes into the mini pci expansion slot on the bottom of the notebook. gateway tells me the expansion slot is inaccessible. is there a way i can access it and put in the network card

If you can get your money back on the PCI card go back and exchange it for a PCMCIA network adapter. Problem solved.
