I have a Sandisc Mimi Cruiser, 512MB and when I insert it into my computer, it shows up Found New Hardware: ADIR ROM and my computer doesn't recognize it.

Simple answer would be to throw it away.

Could try to format it maybe, try it in another system.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

With 2gb drives going for as little as $7 at Newegg, I would bin it and get a new one.
512mb is not as much space as a cd-r (700mb) worth about 20cents.

Or, look in Disk Management for it. You may need to format it.
