Hi,
a friend of mine has two laptops, and within the space of a few months of having them he has spilt milk and bear over them. They both now refuse to switch on.
one of them flickers when its on, the other has no sign of life.
they have both been left upside down to dry for a few days but still no luck.
has the motherboards been destroyed? what should i be looking for if i open them up?
Thanks,

You lost me. You meant to say beer which is a sugary liquid as opposite to Bear which is a large mammal always hunting for food, right?
In any event listen to this video clip that explain why laptops are not sponges.

lol thats funny, yes you are right i meant beer not the mammal that searches for food.
i knew i spelt it wrong....
ill have a listen to this vid when i get home.
Thank you for your help, and for correcting my spelling :)

LOL...IMO that is an extremely boring video to say the least, but it is quite humurous at times.
Replacing a keyboard in a Dell Inspiron is really quite easy, I've done it a few times. This link for laptop keyboards you will pay much less than getting it from the actual Brand company and I got mine in 2 days.
http://stores.channeladvisor.com/tr...spilling milk and beer? Hmmmmmmmm....quite a different combo to say the least. I'm surprised this person would ruin 2 laptops like that, not learning from the 1st.
Hopefully more care is taken after the repairs.
Some HELP in posting on Cnet plus free progs and instructions Glad to Help!

They are probably both organ donors. What I'd do is dissect them after downloading
appropriate manuals, clean them off with denatured alcohol, and blow dry.Since the LCDs and many other parts are probably still good, what I do with machines like that is look for matching notebooks with broken LCDs to make one out of two.
Eating or drinking near laptops is stupid (there is no kind way to put it) but it does keep folks like me supplied with parts.
