Here is a question I do not know the answer to, what is the difference between a Microprocessor and a CPU?
Another question I have is going from a Pentium MMX with 200mhz and 96mb of RAM to a Pentium II with 333mhz, is there much of a speed difference? When I went from a 486DX4 with 100mhz to my current machine at 200mhz the speed difference felt like going from a Comadore 64 to a Pentium 4.

Thank-You

Non. Just different names for the same thing. CPU is more generic. All computers have a CPU but only desktop computers have a microprocessor. The term microprocessor is a bit redunant these days. Its a throw back from the days when mainframes filled whole rooms and the CPU was a big as 6ft cupboard.

You will notice a difference in speed but not so great as going from the 486DX4 to Pentium 200.

You've asked about this CPU/RAM configuration a couple of times now. Are you getting a completely new machine or swapping the motherboard? I'm sure you realize a PII won't fit on your socket 7 board? Have you tried pulling 32mb of ram outta your 200MMX machine as suggested? I'm guessing it will run better with just 64mb of RAM...& that's been suggested to you a couple of times...just wondering if you tried it or not? What about overclocking? It should run at 233 without any probs...just change your mutiplier to 1.5x & see how it goes...
