Hi Everyone

Was wondering of anyone could help, I have a webcam with a mic and when it is plugged in the mic is constantly working, coming through the speakers and giving feedback?? the only way to stop it is to mute it, I wantit to be off unless it is being used by an application like Msn etc???

Any ideas?

cheers

Imagine if every Thursday your shoes exploded if you tied them the usual way. This happens to us all the time with computers and nobody thinks of complaining.

I still don't get what you mean by the above, there has to be some interface that toggles the mic 'on' or 'off', and unless MSN has a voice command feature or third party plugin that can do that, I don't think you have much of a choice here.

Unless other folks have better suggestion.

You can get a mic with a switch.

My mic is built into the webcam, and when the mic is not muted in audio properties it gets feedback and if i speak it comes out of the speakers. regardless of what programs are running.

My point is I only want to mic to work when i am on a program that needs it ie. MSN??

cheers
