OK I have come across this b4 and can not remember how I fixed it
I have a verbatim headset with mic and when I talk or blow on the mic I can hear it in the speakers...
It has only just started doing this and if I remember rightly its a sound card issue (i think)

First of all, blowing in the mic is not good...it's really hard on speakers (I know, because I've been in entertainment for many yrs now) I presume you have both mini plugs plugged into your soundcard. I use my headset mic for Skype and what I do is: 1- double left click on the sound icon 2- mute the microphone That way I don't hear my voice while communicating and there is NO sound at all through my speakers, thus no feedback.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks
