I just got Partition Magic to merge 2 partitions on 2 seperate disks.
The situation:
In my pc there are two hard disks. One if partially partitioned (1TB big, 50GB for windows and 450GB as storage) and now I want to partition the remaining free space with a second hard disk I installed recently. I formatted the free space as NTFS partitions, but I cannot merge them.Any idea's are welcome.

You cannot merge partitions on two seperate disks. Not possible.
You can combine two seperate disks to make them look like one single disk using RAID but thats a different thing altogether.

Raid is when you use multiple disks or partitions to create a safety zone in case any of the disks / partitions fails. But (and I can be mistaken about this) with raid, 1 + 1 doesn't equal to 2. It becomes more like 1.7.
I am looking for a way to make the last partition on the first disk and that second hard disk show up as one partition without loosing any disk space.

Yes, I know what RAID is ans what it does. As I said before, without implementing RAID there is no way of doing it and I will tell you why.
Every disk has a Master Boot Record. This boot record contains information about partitions, how many there are, where they start on the disk and where they end. To be able to merge two partitions in the way you are suggesting would mean that the Master Boot Record would need to contain partition information for space that is on another disk. There is no mechanism to do that.

I think what you want is to create a Dynamic disk array. Look at the MS link below for for information on this feature.
Be aware that converting the second disk to a dynamic disk is a one way street. Additionally, if you lose the primary disk you lose it all.
IMO there is only one valid use for dymanic disks. That is when you MUST maintain the same drive letter and also need to expand storage capacity. If that is not your need then I recommend you NOT use dynamic disks.

OtheHill,
Thanks for letting me know about dynamic disks. I just read that you can only span / create a Dynamic Disk Array between dynamic volumes. But to convert my first disk into a dynamic disk, I'd have to reformat my C: and D: which contain all my data.
Is there a way to expand my E: (which is an NTFS partition on a basic disk) to a second disk? I can reformat my E: if it needs, there is no data on it yet.
EDIT - Is it possible to reformat a drive to a dynamic drive without loosing the data on that drive? And can a dynamic disk contain a boot volume? C: in this case.
