Specs: Windows 7, 2.793 GHz / 3070 MB
Hello I recently bought this computer(Asus a8n-sli deluxe with a Athlon 64x2 4200+ 3Gb of ram installed )for a home theater. I am using windows 7 32 bit. My problem is that my memory slots 1 and 2 only allocate the ram installed to system hardware. I have 3 Gb installed and windows 7 is showing 3 Gb installed 2Gb usable. If I remove all memory from slot 1&2 (1Gb) it will show 2gb installed andno mention of any amount allocated for hardware. No matter what combination of ram I try whatever ram installed in slot 1&2 will be used as allocated ram for hardware ex: slot 1-2 2 Gb's slot 3&4 2x 512 will show as 3Gb installed igb usable.I have tried 4 gigs and 2 Gb's are set for hardware. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

"The virtual address space for 32-bit Windows is 4 gigabytes (GB) in size and divided into two partitions: one for use by the process [2GB] and the other reserved for use by the system [2GB]."

Thanks for your reply, but unless I'm mistaken my problem is not with virtual memory but the fact that any ram nstalled in slots 1&3 are used for hardware e.g." 4Gb of ram 2 Gb usable". My other computer shows 4 gb of ram 3.5 Gb useable using Windows 7 32 bit.. Can anyone help? Thank you.
