You apparently put the RAM in the wrong DIMM slots...read your motherboard manual.

Yes i did that.

i have one stick in dimm1 and 1 stick in dimm3 i mean to me that would be dual channel so i dunno what the problem is.
Its still saying single. You think it could have something to do with vista? Cause it did say dual in xp.

Which version of CPUZ are you using...v1.41?

When you bootup, does it say "dual channel mode" on the POST screen? or do you have a logo that blocks the screen? If so, go into the BIOS & turn the logo off. Also, if you were to run memtest86, it would tell you whether it's single or dual channel mode...it might simply be a glitch in CPUZ.

BTW, there is no such thing as "dual channel memory". Dual channel mode is a feature of the motherboard, not the RAM, but RAM is regularly sold in "dual channel kits" (matched pair) to be run in dual channel mode on boards that support it. Actually, there are very few boards that don't support it these days.

CPU-Z is most likely reporting it incorrectly. Have you tried using Sandra?
