Hi
My laptop according to Lenovo will run upto 2GB at 266Mhz, the problem is I am finding it hard to source in Australia. Will my IBM thinkpad R40 run at 333Mhz or 400Mhz which is readily avaliable here for reasonable cost?? Does it have a feature to step down to 266Mhz

PC 2400 or 2700 memory modules are compatible with 2100 ones as they automatically slow down to the FSB frequency when inserted into slot.

In that way (by inserting PC 2700) I upgraded a legacy PC 2100 desktop from 256 MB to 1 GB, of course giving up the better speed of new modules.
