Memory not recognised

Comment:
I've recently bought some memory (168pim DIMM 128mb) and installed it in my computer.
However I have encountered the following problems:
If I install the new memory on its own then computer does not boot.
If I install the memory with the existing 32mbDIMM I have then the computer only recognises a total of 96MB instead of the full 160mb. However this only works when I put the 128MB DIMM in the highest bank (not the lowest as suggested on many installation guides)
Am I doing something wrong? Or am I missing something.

No, you're not missing anything, you have the wrong type of RAM...you're trying to run high density RAM in a board that's designed for low density RAM. Either you'll have to settle for it being read at only 1/2 it's rated capacity, or get the proper RAM for your board. Chances are, true PC100 will work, but not PC133.
