Comment:
I have a new ASUS a7n266 mother board with XP pro SP1.
The memory I have installed is PC2100 DDR SDRAM 256 MB.
I am lost as to why it won't display the memory correctly in system properties. Should not be a BIOS issue since it is a board from like 2002.

Google search on your Mobo. Is it the A7N266-VM motherboard? That one has onboard/ integrated graphics. Meaning it takes some amount from your system memory and allocate them for graphics. Subtract the amount that you allocated for video from your 256Meg system memory and that will be the vaslue displayed on system properties.
