Thank you everyone from my last post.

I do however have two questions, after reading a bit more on memory.

My motherboard manual says that i currently have installed PC100 SDRAM. Can i install for example PC133 SDRAM ? Is this possible. the 100 and 133 refer to the speed, thus is it possible to increase it ? I have noticed that 133 is cheaper than 100 ?!?!?

Additionally, whats the rule on mixing RAM, i.e. i currently have 128mb RAM installed and i have two banks avaliable, could i for example buy a 64mb ( as an example ) and fit it along side the 128mb ? or do i have to get another 128mb stick ? Or does it differ from motherboard to motherboard..

Many thanks for peoples help you have been great !!

pc133 works on any pc100 motherboard, and is compatible with existing pc100 if you have it. Everything will just run at 100mhz in that case.

Some boards have restrictions on installing certain types of memory combinations. I think crucial.com has those considerations built into their memory selection wizard, but I'm not completely sure.

try buying double sided ram 128m p133 with 8 chips, the cheaper single sided ram seems to come up as only 64m in many machines, and will really only work in the later m/b,
