memory configure problem

Dell / Pe 1600sc

Specs: windows 2000 Advaced server, ecc 512 mb
I having dell pe 1600sc server.
when i start thhis server this show "invalid memory configuration detected"
there is 4 memory bank.
if i use 1 or2 bank than there is no disply.
if i use 3 or 4 no bank than there is disply present but this error massege is blinking.
how to solve this problem.

Please check in your manual which slots are used for Dual Channel....also try slot 1 & 3, and slot 2 & 4....

Have you changed the RAM in this server. Below is a link to the Dell page for your server. The excerpt below deals with the RAM requirements. You need to use Error Correction memeory (ECC).

A minimum of 128 MB of ECC DDR 266 SDRAM memory, upgradable to a maximum of 4 GB by installing 128-, 256-, 512-MB, or 1-GB registered memory modules in the four memory module sockets on the system board
