Memory address line failure

CPU/Ram: 1.8 ghz and 1 gb ram
Model/Manufacturer: dell inspiron 4150

Hi All,

When i start my system iam getting the following error message from couple of days

" Memory write/read failure at 3FFF0000, read FF10FF00 expecting FF10FF10 , memory address line failure at 3FFF0000, read FF10FF10 expecting 00000000"

I have upgraded my RAM from 256 to 512 *2 two years back, it was working fine till recently,

Can any one suggest me

Remove one memory module. Boot.

If the error occurs, the bad stick of ram is in the computer. If it doesn't, you might have the bad stick in your hand.

If you only have 512mb, that error message is kinda weird. It's way over the 512mb line, actually up near 1gb.

does 512*2 mean you have 2 sticks of 512mb (ie 1gb)?.
Anyway, you could try removing ram, cleaning the contacts and putting back in, but it does sound like ram gone faulty
