i have a cybermaxx medion MD41349 notebook,i would like to install more ram but cannot find where to put the upgrade?most systems you can simply open something on the bottom of under the keyboard but this one i cant find the ram! aswell as this the dvd-rw drive doesnt burn dvds anymore.after going through every possibility, drivers, firmware etc etc,i have come to the conclusion it needs replacing. i have a compaq presario 2500 series notebook with a dvd-rw in it that works fine,is it possible to swap the drives over? the compaq has a smashed screen so is of no use other than parts. any help would be great thanks

I've only ever worked on one medion laptop (they are surprisingly good for the price) & this did have a standard hatch underneath for memory also, coincidentally it was the optical drive which went as well. Anyway, if you go to the Medion homepage & look for the e-mail support you'll find them very quick & very helpful (at least the medion.co.uk support are). I think you may have problem swapping out an older CDRW as they don't all have standard connectors though you could always take both out to compare. The front of the drive is often just a 'clip-on' affair to match in the case.
