We are having the same problem as someone reported in December 04, Quote: I have got a medion md40734 laptop also know as an fid2060+ i recently installed service pack 2 at this point my laptop would not boot into windows on entering safe mode locks with a black screen with pink and green lines. From her i ran the next fix which was to get a bios update which i got from www.medion.co.uk the bios was correct for my machine. I ran this from a cd as at this point it would not enter windows. Now whenever i boot the system it gets 2 beeps and then says "error Resource conflict - PCI on Motherboard Bus:00, device:00, function 00 press f1 to resume or f2 to enter setup". I have been trying to find out what bios this has so i can update the bios but cannot find anything i ran fresh devices fresh diags the information is Bios vendor medion, bios version notebios version/L2850100, bios date 09/08/03, also ran bios wizard to try to find something this says its a pheonix bios 4.0 release 6.0, and mobo chipset is sis648 rev81 i have tried everything i can think of and i have worked in computers for 5 years. I believe that the laptop is slightly different to the ones the Medion Supplied BIOS is designed for. After also reflashing and getting WinXP SP2 to install succesfully(leading me to believe there was a problem with the old BIOS) it cannot detect some of the hardware properly. I have contacted Medion and asked for a previos BIOS revision but if the model is slightly different this will still have the same fault. Medion told me that I will have to buy a new Mobo as it is a month out of warranty, you can imagine what I told them. They supplied the BIOS update as correct and they configured the batch file so as not o back up the BIOS first so as far as I'm concerned it's their fault. Will see what we get back from the Supervisor. Does anyone have one of these laptops that we could get the old BIOS saved from? They were on sale in ToysRUs around Xmas 03.

hi i have the same laptop bought from toys r us in early 2004 i would be pleased to help you if u can instruct me how to do it! i also havea problem with mine, i bought it from toys r us but it was the last 1 so i had the demo 1 off the shelf i have done a reinstall usng the disk supplied but i now have no sound drivers or graphics drivers i have downloaded the sis 7018 sound drivers but it won't install the sound card (code 10) same issue with graphics too nvidia geforce fx go 5200 - no joy! have u ever had this problem with your 1? perhaps u could help me too?
