Mechanical mouse won't work

October 29, 2010 at 19:35:11
Specs: Windows 7
Optical mice cause my hand to swell up, get very sore, and lose ability to bend fingers. Optical mice work fine in my system through USB. I got some old rubber-ball track-ball mechanical mice, but none of them respond when connected either PS/2 or USB. (OS is Windows 7.)

If you're using an adapter with the mouse--don't. Not all mice work with adapters. Make sure the PS/2 mouse is plugged into the port when you start the computer. Make sure the PS/2 port is enabled in cmos/bios setup.
