So, I had to reinstall XP the other day.. And to my horror, It would give me a blue error screen on installation.

I soon found out I needed some raid drivers (for my SATA Maxtor Hard Driver, 60gigs) ...I get these on a floppy and load them up during install, And it works
However, once past that It says I cannot install windows XP because I have no hard drive. Hmm. I have a disk that came with the hard drive, wich installed it, sadly
it says it didn't know what type of hard drive it was, so it set it up based on it's size. Fun. I got windows 98 to install, so I figured I could get
XP to install, No. I also noticed in BIOS setup, it showed my hard drive but had no infor for it (size and such, but it was set to auto, so I figured)

What could the issue be, IS there some drivers or such that I am missing? I have MaxBlast 3 (for maxtor hard drives) that is used to boot up and install my hard drive,
Would the new MaxBlast 4 (says it auto installs SATA) Is there a way to manual install? 'eh?

I just don't get it all.. Some assistance would be awsome.

It would help if you explained why you had to reinstall. Since it's a reinstall, it must have worked at one time? I'm curious as to why you didn't do a "repair install"?

WinXP is not very tolerant of RAM errors & usually will not install if the RAM is bad. On the other hand, Win98 will install, but the RAM errors will turn up as blue screens/system freezing, etc after Windows is up & running. If you haven't already done so, download memtest86, create a bootable floppy, then boot off the floppy & test from DOS. If any errors are detected, replace the RAM.
