Why my Maxtor hard works on an additional (PromiseTX100) IDE controller, but if another hard (Maxtor, Quantum, Seagate, WD) is conncted to the separate IDE channel, want work. Well, starts to work, but afterwhile, clicks and LED turn on (not blinking), and hangs the computer.
Tried with DS, CS on both cannals. Same story.
But if it alone, all works just fine.

OS is Windows XP, driver for Promise is new one, hard is Maxtor 6Y080L0. Motherboard is Asus with RDRAMs.

Take a look at the IRQ assignment for the controller card. You problem MAY have something to do with a conflict. If this is the case you could try moving the card to a different slot.
