Hi, i lost all the information from that hard disk, i tried to recover it with no success, so i decided to format it. The thing is that the formatting process blocks each time at 28%. I have tried to format it with Partition Magic which works fine everytime, with Windows XP Boot CD, and other tools, and i have the same error with each one. I think some sectors of the hard disk may be damaged. ¿Any sugestion about repairing tools? Thanx www.madmagizians.com

last resort would be maxblast tool from the maxtor website. if that will not scan and re-certify the drive as functional you may just have to face the fact it is dead. I've said it before.. there are two kinds of harddrive, those that have failed and those that will. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. try hd on another computer as ran into that problem on k7-1gig, had to use p4-2.4 cel to get it to fully format hd david
