Specs: Windows 7, AMD 64
I've almost maxed out my existing SATA HDD & want to replace it with a bigger drive. My system is a little older & I am worried about it not recognizing a 1 to 2 TB drive. The mobo is a Tyan S2865ANRF Tomcat K8E. BIOS is Award 3.02. Running 32-bit Windows 7, so I think it best to stay UNDER 2 TB. Still, nowhere within the Tyan manual & website or the info I've read about the Award bios on the internet give any clue about how large a drive they would recognize. Award is not upgrading the BIOS any longer, as far as I can tell. Tyan responded to me that "S2865 is EOL. We don’t have any information to support this HDD issue" & referred me to the BIOS download webpage, which did not yield any clues.

Anyone have any knowledge?

If you've ever used this board, how big SATA HDD were you able to run successfully?

For whatever it's worth, my current HDD is split into 4 partitions & the new one will also be.

Yeah it sure is hard finding max SATA HD size for that board. I did a search for
Tyan S2865 sata "tb" hoping to catch any info on terabyte drives associated with that board and found this:

where the poster installed two 1 tb sata drives. He initially had a problem with them being seen as SATA-1 instead of SATA-2 but resolved that issue.
