Hi Mavis007
I have read your successful posts on restarting Tosh M60, my problem is different, as one day it refused to boot. The blue light came on for 8 seconds and nothing. However, I found out by accident that after the laptop warmed up in the boot of the car it worked normally. This didn't last and so I searched the internet for a solution and found exactly the same problem. The solution was to change the capacitors so I bought some new ones and tried to find someone to replace them. No joy but someone suggested a new motherboard at $135 so I purchased one and installed it.
Problem not solved as now no light at all when start button pressed! The battery is not very old and is charging normally from orange to green!
Your thoughts and/or anyone else s would be appreciated.

Either a bad board or it has wires crossing. check the connections to the board. Be sure the on button is connected properly.

Never try to fix a laptop.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Volante would of been handy if you'd posted ref: "...restarting Tosh M60..." link

"...warmed up in the boot of the car..."

... sounded like something was expanding and made contact

... cleaned the button?... try ebay for (click>>) power button board (£4) ...??
