make router wireless?

Specs: WIN XP, 512

Hi,

For some time I have been using a normal router. I recently got myself a notebook pc and would like to use it on my network via wifi.

Is there anything I can add to my router to make it wireless or do I have to buy a new router and throw the old one away?

In my case, I bought a Linksys Wirelss-G Access point Model WAP54G and
plugged it into my router. Works a charm. There may be cheaper ones available, try a google search

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

From my experience, a wireless router is usually cheaper than an access point. It doesn't make sense when you consider a wireless router has everything an access point has and much more. But, it comes down to simple economics. There is not a great demand for access points, so the price must be higher to give manufacturers incentive to produce them.

Another alternative maybe is you set up a new one,You need an ethernet modem not USB, a Wireless router(Linksys or SMC) you decide which one you prefer..
