This problem is really demoralising me. My computer just reboots randomly. The only consistent factor is that I'm either playing games or installing games. It has never rebooted while surfing the net, burning CDs or typing up documents. eventvwr.msc gives me this error:

Error code0000009c Parameters 00000000,f78a4050, b2000000, 1040080f

always it is this exact same error code.

does this mean anything to anyone? here's some things I've already tried to fix this problem:

-replaced mobo and RAM and checked using CPU-Z that memory timings matched SPD settings (this reduced BSOD frequency somewhat).
-ran Memtest 86 for multiple passes (no errors)
-ran Orthos blend for days (no errors)
-replaced PSU and ensured volts and amps were sufficient (still BSOD)
-replaced and stress tested graphics card
-tried just using integrated graphics
-reinstalled OS and all drivers
-checked HDD for errors
-checked thermals with Everest
-no dust

...still BSOD. Is my CPU faulty? if anyone with expertise can advise me on how to pinpoint this problem, I'd appreciate it.

Microsoft says, "Ask Intel," but they do suggest some CPU problems as probable causes for a 0x9C BSOD.
