Pretty hard to say one is better than the other. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Mac's can score higher in some benchmarks and lower in others. AMD's and Intel's ditto. Fast is fast; however, if this is a beer drinking argument find the stats that support your position and suggest he finds the stats that support his.

Comparing Macs and PCs is a fanatic's job.
The results will depend entirely on how you measure performance. Software written specifically to take advantage of the Mac architecture can't be used on a PC. Many common PC titles available in Mac editions aren't utilizing the Mac hardware advantages and will naturally run faster on a PC.
Regardless, with a Google search you should be able to find *tons* of test results.
Best Luck, Bob

Too bad there's like Medal of Honor...and Marathon on the mac, if you love those games, apples are awesome...if you like others...anyways, Macs usually are a bit faster, but not many utilize apple as much, just for production programs.
