low system resources

i keep getting an error message "low system resources" it only happens with one HDD and not another. both HDD have nothing much on them they are both 3 years old.

Hi could use more info: how do you have hdd set up, both in comp at once? which is the one with OS installed. Or do you have OS on both and trying one at a time? Do a Ctrl/Alt/Delete and see what is all running. Any program that is or was running takes memory resources.

This can be caused by: Running many days without rebooting. Poorly written programs that don't release System Resources when exiting. Just running too many programs at once.
