While i was playing stranglehold, which my PC actually can handly despite not meeting the requirements, i decided to update my graphics drivers, but now i cant play any games, that require Pixel and Vertex Shader.
Somehow, my graphics card seems to ahve "lost" the values, as both are set to v0.0 and i know for a fact that it should be at least v2.0 for both. (see image)
Ive done everything i could think about, use new drivers, roll back to old ones, other versions, compelte clean install of said drivers, but nothing works.
I also ran tests on Direct3D (Dxdiag) and they all "failed" and i have the latest version of DX9 there is.
They are jsut gone, and nothing smelt burnt, just... poof, they were gone after i updated the driver set.
I am using a Sapphire RADEON x1600 Pro.
Is there anything that can be done to recover the "lost" shaders, or is my card dead and gone?
Ive already contact ATI, but their auto responce was as useful as selling sand in Sahara, and id rather not waste time on contacting them personally if you guys know a solution, other then a hammer :p
Thx in advance.
PS: No, its not the game install, because, its every game, that uses this technology thats affected.

Where did you get the graphics drivers from? Did you go directly to ATI or did you use some 3rd party site? I believe the latest is Catalyst v7.10.
Could it be that the game is getting 'confused' with the onboard video? Have you disabled it in the BIOS & in Device Manager?
For what it's worth, you could try installing the latest 741 chipset & AGP (GART) drivers from SiS:

Hi jam
I got my drivers directly from ATI's website, and yes, it is correct that the latest version is 7.10, but that was the one that messed it all up.Ill try out the things you suggested when i get from work (7am my time, whem im writing this) then we will see what happens.
Thx for a swift reply :)

Sounds like something’s gone wrong
Something might have gone bang.
Might be the driver has seen the card and thought it was something else and wrecked it.any how i think if you got onboard graphics you should go back to that uninstall all the drivers for the duff card and direct x if you can. Then go into the directories for the drivers and if there’s any files delete em and same with the tmp directory. and reboot the computer after each uninstall so there is no hope hell that the computers holding onto any settings.
then reinstall with the drivers that came with it and cross your fingers oh yeah and give your case a quick shake. ive found the capacitors on gpus have a bad habit of dropping off
