Can someone help me, I got a registry error which said I had to reboot my computer, which I did

When I got windows up, I found my CD and CD R/RW drives had vanished even though they show up in my bios.

Does anyone now how I can get them back without having to go from scratch please.

thanks in advance

andy

Do you have...

1. No CDROM listed in Device Manager or My Computer
2. Device Manager shows yellow ! on Hard Disk Controllers
3. Performance shows drives running in MS-DOS Compatibility mode

Try this...

Run REGEDIT and search for NOIDE
It will be here if you have it in your registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\VXD\IOS
Look on right hand screen for NOIDE and delete it, if found

Bonne chance

Thanks Krystyna

1, No CDROM listed in device manager or MY COMPUTER

2, Have run the add new hardware wizard which came back with " No new hardware found "

3, CDROM & CD R/RW are both listed in bios and when computer boots

4, tried system restore, still nothing
