Loosing Mouse Cursor

January 30, 2006 at 23:45:29
Specs: XP Home SP2, AMD 3500+/ 1 gig

A few weeks ago I posted this same problem.
I lose control of my mouse cursor on the screen. The arrow head freezes but is still functioning invisibly when i move the mouse around. I have to reboot to get control of the cursor again. Sometimes the desktop loads up and the the mouse cursor is frozen from the start. Some times the laser goes on and off and stays off after start up.
It's a Microsoft corded optical but this problem occurs with other mice on this computer as well.
I just did a full format and haven't even updated the graphics card (MSI NX6600GT TD128E) or Motherboard (Asus A8V-E Deluxe) drivers yet and now It's doing this again.
I'm Running F-Secure antivirus and have just installed A retail of Webroot's 'Spy-Sweeper'. Everything is clean...Temps are flushed...Prefetch is drained as well as recycle bin. Cookies are gone.
Is my Bios screwed??? What have I done? This is a 64 bit headache running on 32 bit OS.
Please...anyone????

Install your Mobo and GFX drivers! You won't be running properly with out them! Once they are sorted out, set up your monitor to the right settings.

AMD Athlon 2800+ barton @ 12.5 X 176 : 2200mhz
1024Mb DDR400 RAM in sync
MSI KT6 Delta mobo
Leadtek AGP 6600 gt 128Mb
120Gb Seagate HDD

Thanks Zeemon

Actually the problem started back when i got my latest graphics driver update or very close to that time.
Somedays it's fine, somedays I wanna set fire to it. Same tasks...same programs...but not in games though. It fails mostly accessing my e-mail or opening media player. Funny.....I don't recall it ever locking in a game. Supposed to be a good Antec case and now the power supply fan just seized.
