Hi all
Ive at the moment got a network conecting 3 computers in my house all using rj45s. The problems arrises is i have a laptop thats got wirelss its a intel centrino one of the first. ive used the wirelss connection alot at universty and found it very handy. But now at home im getting sick of being restricted to the cable in my room especially when i want to conect to the internet form another room. generaly i dont belive in wireless since i see majour draw backs on the horizon but in the home it would be great. so what i want to know is there anything that i should look out for when buying a wireless router? is there diffrent types of wireless or are they backwards compatable? also does any one know of a good wireless netgear router? Ive been impressed by there stuff before and would like another. Cheers, oh im in the uk so links to american online shops wont help. cheers

I have an identical setup, you don't really need a wireless router, just get a WAP(Wireless Access Point) and plug it into your existing router, assuming you have an ethernet port to spare. I am in the UK connected to Virgin.net works perfectly well for me and bear in mind it will be on the "safe" side of your router so give it a WEP key after you have got it up and running and you're away.
Best of luck.
